Off-Lake Kayaking
Since 2010, a group of 10-25 Expedition Kayakers (DLYC members) have been paddling on nearby lakes and rivers once a month (3 times this summer). We meet at the yacht club on Friday mornings with our boats on trailers, and carpool to a Michigan or Indiana lake for a morning paddle, which is followed by an optional lunch at a local restaurant. As time goes on, we’re finding that the restaurant choice is becoming more important! The group has had great fun exploring local lakes and streams over the years. Favorite kayaks so far have been at Shavehead Lake, Magician Lake and the Dowagiac River. We always return home thinking that Diamond Lake is the best place to live!
More information on the 2024 season will follow. Any member of the club is welcome to join our group. Our destinations are announced in the bulletins and are posted on the calendar. Call or email Jarricks or Yargers for more information about the group, or to join our next outing.
